TRIP OVERVIEW & PURPOSE
2ND Fam, join us as we serve in Calgary, Canada, during the Summer of 2025. We will be serving two church planters in the Calgary community. We will serve with Jeremiah and Nicole Smith of Urban Grace Church and Antonio Lopez of Iglesia Bautista el Alfarero (IBEA). The main goal of this mission trip is outreach and evangelism to those who visit for the annual Stampede.
The Calgary Stampede is an annual rodeo, exhibition, and festival held every July. The ten-day event, which bills itself as "The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth,” attracts over one million visitors annually and features one of the world's largest rodeos, a parade, stage shows, concerts, agricultural competitions, chuckwagon racing, and more. In 2008, the Calgary Stampede was inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame. The event's roots are traced to 1886 when the Calgary and District Agricultural Society held its first fair.
The Calgary Stampede 2024 welcomed visitors from across Alberta, Canada, North America, and worldwide. Over the ten days, 1,477,953 people roamed the grounds. On Sunday, 146,673 people entered the gates, breaking the all-time attendance record of 1,409,371 visitors set in 2012.

- Calgary is situated on the Bow River, about 80 kilometers from the Canadian Rocky Mountains.

- Calgary is the sunniest major city in Canada. Temperatures are also generally mild compared to other parts of the country.

Managed Missions: You will share a trip link provided to you with friends and family if they want to donate financially to your trip or the overall trip.

You will also be given a document with the essential trip dates, such as meetings, fundraisers, etc.
MEETING EXPECTATIONS

By agreeing to this mission, you are also agreeing to prepare for the trip and complete any follow-up tasks that may be required. You must attend all meetings leading up to the trip, as they will provide important information and guidance on moving forward. After each meeting, discussion details will be sent to all registered participants.
