TRIP OVERVIEW & PURPOSE

Students grades 9-12 (rising 9th-12th grade graduates) from the 2nd Student Ministry will be serving in Antigua, Guatemala to help provide clean water to those in need. We will be partnering with Filter of Hope, an organization that is motivated by Christ to bring clean water to people who are thirsty. By manufacturing and distributing simple, life-saving water filters, Filter of Hope provides families living in poverty with easy access to clean, safe drinking water. These water filters can produce up to 250 gallons of clean water per day for 10 years. The global water crisis affects over 2 billion people, and many organizations have attempted to address this issue by developing large and expensive water filters.
Filter of Hope believes no one should live without clean drinking water. Everyone deserves the opportunity to know Christ personally. Together, we can change lives forever. Thousands of children die every week because they drink contaminated water, and over 4 billion people currently face eternity separated from God.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT:

In the mornings and afternoons, you will have the opportunity to connect with families in the community and get to know them. You will be providing them with water filters and sharing the gospel. During the evenings, you will get the chance to connect with your team and discuss your experiences and how the Lord is working. This will also be a great opportunity for the team to experience and learn about the local culture.

Also:

  • Hundreds of people will have clean drinking water right in their own homes – for the next 10 years!
  • Many will come to know Jesus Christ as their personal savior
  • You will grow closer by serving together and carrying a new excitement for ministry back home with you.
